Cell growth detection in fermentation and bioreactors with Wedgewood systems /
The Wedgewood Analytical cell growth systems are microprocessor based for use as online sensors to measure cell density in bacterial fermentation and cell culture applications (mammalian cells, insects, yeast or bacterias).
They are used to measure cell growth absorbance in the NIR region of the electromagnetic spectrum, at a wavelentgh from 950 to 1150 nm, which enables measurement of high concentration sample with no dilution (up to 100 OD) with no perturbation due to the change of colour of the media.
Cleanable, sterilizable and autoclavable in place sensors (3 diameters, 3 pathlentghs – depending on specific application and targetted maximum biomass concentration – several line sizes available)
Wide variety of process connections for plates or shells
Each measurement system includes
1 sensor
1 cable
1 transmitter with analog inputs to be connected to a PLC for inclusion in a control scheme.
Features proprietary bubble reject algorithm to minimize interference caused by aeration and agitation
Inline calibration filter for the whole measuring system validation available.
