Sterile In-situ Fermentation Sampling Probes FISP® /
Flownamics Analytical Instruments has developed a sampling probe capable of withdrawing sterile, cell-free samples from fermentors and bioreactors. The FISP® probes not only allow off-line sampling but also direct on-line sample transfer to a biochemical or other type of analyser. The FISP® sampling probe is a small tube-shaped sterilizable 316 satinless steel carrier surrounded by a tubular microporous membrane. the probes are available for 12, 19 and 25mm ports, for laboratory, pilot or industrial scale vessels.
Microbial and Mammalian Sampling :
Whether the process is a microbial fermentation requiring multiple samples per hour or a mammalian cell culture requiring less frequent sampling FISP® probes will peform well. Sampling with the FISP® probe provides an excellent means of obtaining material for determining glucose, glutamine, lactate and ammonia levels in perfused mammalian cell culture. This data can, in turn be used to adjust the perfusion rate and to determine, for example, the optimal time for infection and harvest.
