LSC has developed a range of in-line process refractometers for applications in biotechnology, food, beverage, petrochemical, pulp and paper, etc.  These process instruments are extremely rugged and are fully CIP’able (clean-in-place).  The measurement operates continuously with automatic temperature compensation and can operate up to 150°C.
 
The LSC process refractometer utilizes the critical angle technique which is an interface measurement of refractive index. Its exclusive design employs the I.R. Detection System that provides infinite resolution while eliminating drift. This technique measures the dissolved solids of the process stream and is commonly displayed in engineering terms such as Concentration, Brix, Refractive Index and % Solids.

The field measurement takes place right at the sensing window (sapphire prism) and the provided signals are analyzed via a remote electronic transmitter, which may be installed up to 500m away from the sensing head.  The measurement cell may be supplied with 3.1B certificates for all wetted parts in contact with the process.

This provides the customer with a very reliable and sturdy system with no drift over time.

All fittings available
316L Stainless Steel is our standard material for wetted surfaces.  Other various material are available such as, Duplex 2205, Teflon, Kynar, Tantalum, etc.

May operate safely in any hazardous area through the use of intrinsic safety barriers.
